Counting the blessings

Some days I get moments where I feel inexplicably sad. It makes me scared and anxious. There are times when loneliness fills my heart and suffocates all the warm and happy feelings. The feelings of loss, being unseen, or worse ignored, forge deep channels into your heart so quickly.

But I try to remind myself of how lucky I am to be alive right now, to have a wonderful husband and 2 great kids. I’m grateful for the family that have grown in my heart too, instead of through blood. I try to forget about the things I feel possibly are missing, and I focus on being thankful for all the wonderful things I do have, the blessings that have been given to me.

Most uplifting on these hard days is when people say kind things, a thank you, or offer a commendation. I’m so incredibly lucky to have beautiful souls in my life like this, and we can cherish and love each other.

Proverbs 12:25 – Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word cheers it up.

I just need to focus and remember to count each and every blessing.
